Before installing the brace you will need to disconnect the arm from your door (pull the red rope that hangs from your door opener). Also, be sure to set the locks on your door to support the sides.

Make sure all small items are stored in plastic bins. Put the largest items closest to the walls first to help protect the inner walls should the garage door fail.
